I was not sure if my old SK8V supports the dual core opteron 280. But actually this dual core opteron works perfectly with the old motherboard. The windows recognized the newly installed CPU and after a restart, it showed the two working cores of the processor.haha...Lucky

The upgrade potential of this motherboard is quite limited now. No more new cpu available, lack of support PCI-E,....it once was a top motherboard and its good time has gone..
